It All Began with Two Visionaries and a Willingness to Risk It All

The story of Byler Rivet Supply started in 1974 when Johnny Byler saw an untapped niche in the fastener industry. With insight, drive, and an unwavering vision, Johnny and his wife Jimmie took a leap of faith and founded R & A Supply, Inc.—where the “R” stood for rivets and the “A” for anything else they could sell.

Operating out of the back of his pick-up truck, Johnny personally sold, shipped, and delivered products to local customers, laying the foundation for what would become a family legacy.

Stockholders were the backbone of the company. Family and friends invested in Johnny and Jimmie and their vision.

1985

In 1985, their success paved the way for their second fastener business, J. Byler Rivet Supply, Inc. Fueled by her passion for building relationships and the belief she could sell rivets over the phone, Jimmie joined Johnny in the fastener industry. Her leadership and drive helped the company reach new heights, establishing a strong foundation for future growth.

1999

In 1999, Johnny and Jimmie merged their two businesses to form Byler Rivet Supply, uniting their efforts under one banner and creating a stronger, more streamlined company to better serve their customers. The merger marked a pivotal moment, allowing the Byler family to consolidate their resources and expand their reach in the fastener industry.

2000

By the early 2000s, the next generation of the Byler family had joined the business. In 1998, their daughter Kate Forsythe brought her creative expertise to the company, focusing on advertising and marketing development. In 2001, their son John Byler joined, contributing his skills in sales, accounting and logistics.

As the company grew, Byler Rivet Supply expanded into new markets, added services like tool repair and custom packaging, and moved into a state-of-the-art 40,000-square-foot facility to better serve its customers with more options and solutions

For nearly five decades, the Byler family has built their business on knowledge, integrity, and quality, driven by a shared passion for helping customers find the right solutions for their fastening needs.
